The Barbados Citizenship Bill 2025, the Immigration Bill 2025 and the Caribbean Community (Free Movement of Nationals) Bill are among matters to be discussed by the Lower House today, Monday 13 October.

The Caribbean Community (Free Movement of Nationals) Bill and the Barbados Citizenship Bill 2025 are both slated for a second reading by the Hon. W.A. Abrahams, Minister of Home Affairs and Information.

Debate will resume on the Immigration Bill 2025 which had its first reading on August 08, 2025 and its second reading on the August 12, 2025.

There has been varied public reaction to these three bills which can be traced back to a policy speech made by the Prime Minister Mia Mottley in October 2022.  As a public service, Barbados Uncensored has provided an excerpt of that speech on its Barbados Debates website.
