Silencing Science
If you know the history of Greenpeace, you know that Dr. Patrick Moore is more than a credible voice on climate change and associated environmental concerns.
In a recent interview with Wide Awake Media, the Greenpeace co-founder made two statements that should grab the attention of all critical thinkers. According to Dr. Moore,
“The scientific method has not been applied in such a way as to prove that carbon dioxide is causing the Earth to warm.”
He went on to intimate:
“I am firmly of the belief that the future will show that this whole hysteria over climate change was a complete fabrication.”
You can see the full interview here.
Undoubtedly, that is why he has been virtually silenced by the legacy electronic and social media who want us to play along with their climate change-cum-global warming propaganda in the same way we were forced to play patsy with the recent “international health emergency”.
After Dr. Moore’s wide-ranging revelations in the Epoch Times, about the deep politicization of climate and environmental issues by the IPCC (the United Nations’ Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change), one might be more than willing to trash the puerile predictions and prescriptions of climate crisis bandwagon. Whether that means that one is labeled “climate change skeptic” or “climate change denialist” is unimportant. Critical thinkers have been called worse.
According to Dr. Moore’s exclusive interview with the Epoch Times:
“The IPCC hires scientists to provide them with ‘information’ that supports the ‘climate emergency’ narrative.
“Their campaigns against fossil fuels, nuclear energy, CO2, plastic, etc., are misguided and designed to make people think the world will come to an end unless we cripple our civilization and destroy our economy. They are now a negative influence on the future of both the environment and human civilization.”
Now, to add fuel to the fire (pun intended here), a Nobel Prize physicist, Dr. John Clauser, has come out against the climate change agenda. Styling himself as a “climate change denialist”, the quantum physicist is reported by the ET (Epoch Times) here as making two statements that go against the taboo of climate change.
Mr. Clauser is reported to have told the audience at Quantum Korea 2023.”I believe that climate change is not a crisis,”
According to ET, he also described the United Nations’ Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) as “one of the worst sources of dangerous misinformation.”
National Sovereignty Threat
Political leaders in too many countries have all been too willing to go along with the United Nations climate agenda. For the most part these leaders have little or no scientific training, let alone training in climate science (whatever that is).
The temptation to be seen on the international stage, to garner attention back home, to be part of the WEF and other elitist clubs as well as the dubious opportunity to tap into the much talked-about climate finance for developing countries, present temptations that far outweigh any inducement for them to exercise independent critical thinking.
National sovereignty and the interest of the people who elected them become victims. So too the idea that ‘that government of the people, by the people, for the people shall not perish from the earth”, principally because unelected officials in distant international organizations and elite clubs have an alarmingly greater say in running our national affairs.
The Czars Have It
Supporting these politicians are envoys or czars who shuttle from one international or regional meeting to another, mutually reinforcing each other’s half-baked speculatory views while at the same time, needlessly contributing to the very greenhouse gases they profess to be committed to eliminating.
The classic case of this is the US appointed climate czar, John Kerry, who unashamedly excuses his travelling by private jet to these endless international meetings on climate change. |
The Home Front
Determined not to be left out of the spotlight, the PM of Barbados has found a sweet spot on which to make history and build her international fame in the form of the climate change “crisis”.
Especially in the last two years, we have listened to her impassioned and graphic speeches about looming climate change disasters at the UN climate change conference (which, incidentally might be more appropriately billed as “COPouts”). Out of this has grown her Bridgetown Initiative which addresses the specific issue of climate change finance.
So that Barbados – which a LIAT air hostess once described as twenty-one miles long by a smile wide – can be seen to be “punching above its weight” the Barbados PM has subsequently appointed her finance expert, side-kick and de facto Sancho Panza, Mr. Avinash Persaud, as Barbados’ climate envoy with special responsibility for climate finance as part of the war against climate change.
You can read his opinion of the five proposals of the Bridgetown Initiative here.
If we run with our literary analogy (a la Sancho Panza), that would make the PM, Don Quixote, a parallel that would be true for all the other climate change protagonists! Don Quixote is the actual title of a humorous Spanish novel by Miguel de Cervantes. |
In the novel, Don Quixote, a “minor nobleman” imagines himself to be a knight and rides about the Spanish countryside (with his sidekick, peasant Sancho Panza) imagining it to be filled with nonexistent dangers. Perhaps the most memorable encounter in the novel is where Don Quixote attacks a row of windmills, believing them to be gigantic knights. Plenty irony here!
Therefore, one might easily argue that there is nothing more “quixotic” than a raft of climate change activists who are willing to block the street, handcuff themselves to public buildings, paint graffiti and chant slogans about the climate change emergency based on nothing more than what Nobel Prize physicist Dr. John Clauser describes as pseudoscience. And where else have we heard that term before?
We sincerely hope that the salary of our Sancho Panza is being paid out of the “free” money from the climate change mitigation nest egg and not out of the Barbadian taxpayer’s purse.
The PM and her cabinet are getting very good at stoking the anger of Barbadians by the colossal waste of taxpayers’ funds, excessive borrowing and passing legislation that disadvantages Barbadians.
So far Barbadians have kept their tempers largely under check what with the globalist inspired onslaughts such as the IDB-Ministry of Education invasion of privacy, the controversial Child Protection Act 2023 and the proposed increase in retirement age to 68.
It is one thing to try to wiggle “climate change mitigation money” out of the hands of the first world (what with the failure of reparations for slavery!) but if – and that is a big “if”- the Barbados government finally gets around to attempting to pass climate change legislation such as carbon taxes and ESG scores, it is anybody’s guess whether not we will see a French style rebellion on the streets of Bridgetown.
